The Tortoise

A notoriously elusive puppet is the Tortoise, one of the 1963 Range of puppets that is rarely seen in a collection. It is often described as the "holy grail" for collectors.This week, we are lucky enough to have had a Tortoise arrive in the shop!We are thoroughly enjoying getting to know him and taking lots of images for you to see.He is immaculate and came in his own stamped box.He wears a red striped tee shirt under a brown duffel coat with embroidered toggles. The red trousers have little ties around the ankles. He has very striking paintwork with a very red mouth!​He will be for sale, but at the moment, he's just enjoying his time here at The Vintage Pelham Puppet Shop.
